KAMALPUR, June 29 (TIWN): Huge embezzlement got speculated in the border fencing renovation work at the international Indo-Bangla border here at Kamalpur. Locales speculated embezzlement as the old and rusted wires were kept at places and new wires were fitted at distances.
For last one month or so, the barbed wire of the border fencing started to be renovated in this sub-division. According to the information from the top officials, as the old fencing got rusted and became weak to cope with the cross-border troubles, hence the wires needed to be renovated. But the work came under scanner as the locale raised many allegations against the work.
The rusted wires not got completely changed with the new ones. Instead, the rusted wires were kept at places. And the new wires were set at places at places in distance. As a result, the implementing agency would grab huge undue profit. And many of the security forces officials might get a share from this profit.
Now, in the very sensitive case of the security and sovereignty of the country, how such negligence and embezzlement could be tolerated remained the question of the commoners.
