KAMALPUR, June 28 (TIWN): The centrally sponsored IHHL (Individual House Hold Latrine) project came under scanner for the huge allegation from the part of the commoners.
The commoners from Tetuiya, Sidhdha Para, and Briksha Para alleged huge misappropriation in the implementing of the works. The construction of each latrine got a sanction of 12, 000 rupees and the project continued in the entire state.
But, according to the allegation of the people, the implementing engineers continued to complete their tasks within half of the amount. And the rest of the amount got shared between the engineers and local party leaders. And in doing this they used to leave the work with uncovered pits and incomplete rooms.
Then the works showed as complete in the documents. This happened in not a single case but in more than hundreds of construction during last two years. Lakhs of rupees got embezzled in the process.
The local people several times knocked the block authority about the matter. But their pleadings resulted nothing.
