AGARTALA, June 22 (TIWN) : A 24 hour strike called by the main IPFT group in Tripura has brought life to a standstill here.
The protest by the IPFT party is demanding a separate state for tribal people.
A large number of paramilitary troops and police have been deployed to maintain peace in the hill region.
Ahead of Assembly election 2018, IPFT has once again raised the flame of separate Twipra land declaring that unless or until the tribal communities get this demand fulfilled, IPFT will continue its struggle.
