KAMALPUR, Dec 28 (TIWN): The initiative of the judiciary to appoint Para legal Volunteers (PLVs) resulted in a hopeful turn, here at Kamalpur sub-division. Awareness camps to be organized at different places. And such camps helped much to increase the basic conception of judiciary and legal aids in the sub-division.
Almost a year ago, the judiciary appointed some Para Legal Volunteers in the sub-division. They were bestowed with the job to organize awareness camps on legal matters under their jurisdiction. They were also provided with the responsibility to extend help to commoners regarding filing cases or to seek help from judiciary in quest of justice. The appointed PLVs got on their track quite well, according to the commoners here. Almost every week a camp got organized at different parts of the sub-division.
As a part of this continuation, a legal awareness camp was organized on last Saturday at Chotosurma under this sub-division. In that camp, the local Upa-Pradhan (Assistant Village Headman) Smt. Supriya Das and Advocate Sajal Shilsarma spoke on different matters. They spoke on the legal provisions against dowry, crime against women and domestic violence etc. They also discussed about the help, the commoners could get from the judiciary. Para Legal Volunteer Tapas Das organized the camp.
