KAMALPUR, July 24 (TIWN): The Putiacharra NWDPRA project of agriculture department under Kamalpur sub-division had a new turn as the implementing officer was instructed to refund the amount of the project sanctioned and allotted for 2013-14 fiscal.
The implementing officer already submitted half of the amount and sought two months of time for the rest of the amount. The order and the actions thereof proved the loopholes of the department in implementing the project.
In a twist in the Putiacharra NWDPRA project the department and the implementing officer indirectly admitted their guilt and negligence in implementing different projects. The department ordered the implementing officer to refund the 6, 04, 000 rupees allotted and sanctioned in the project within a week. In a hurry, the implementing officer Pradip Roy refunded 3, 00, 000 rupees and sought two months time for the rest of the amount. It not only proved the department’s negligence but also made clear the inability of the government to book the corrupted leaders under the grip of law.
Moreover, if the punishment of corruption remained merely to refund the amount then the corrupt officials throughout the State would happily engage themselves in the practice of corruption.
