AGARTALA, Sep 16 (TIWN): At least two persons were arrested after taking loans in exchange for stolen gold items. The gold items would be worth Rs. 6 lakhs whereas the loan was taken of Rs. 1.28 lakhs, asserted police.

According to police, one accused was already in jail custody whereas another person has been arrested recently and in police custody.

Investigation is also underway to check if the proper documentations of the loan receivers were collected by the loan-distributors at the finance company or not ; otherwise they will also be brought under the law, said police.

The gold chain could be recovered and has been sent to the court, said police.
