AGARTALA, Feb 9 (TIWN): In a violent attack by ganja cultivators, security personnel were severely injured in Tripura’s Boxanagar.
A video shows injured Police and Assam Rifle personnel were bleeding, whereas a group of violent mobs were pelting stones from one side and another group of aggressive mobs were stopping the police personnel from the other side.
This is not a first ever attack that has taken place on security personnel in the state during Ganja plants destruction drives, as scattered incidents continue to get reported raising questions over the culture of ganja plantation in this state — leading the cultivators to assume that they are doing the correct thing.
The injured Assam Rifles jawan was given first aid immediately and later checked up in hospital.
Tripura police called for zero-tolerance to drug and ganja plants’ destructions are a regular tasks that the police do for prevention of narcotic network.
