SABROOM (South Tripura), Jan 11 (TIWN): A massive fire engulfed a girls hostel in South Tripura District under Sabroom subdivision.

The incident happened on Sunday at Dasharath Dev Memorial Higher Secondary school’s dormitory during vacation period. Even though it was vacation, a significant number of students returned there as the school will open on the next day. 

The cause of the fire is suspected as a short circuit, but the investigation is underway.

Due to the sudden fire incident, students could not remove their important items from their rooms, resulting in massive damages including clothes, books and other necessary items. 

Ahead of board exams, such an incident has traumatized the students by burning their notes and preparatory books.

The local Fire Brigade team’s quick response helped to control the situation at the earliest. Fortunately, no one received any injury in this incident.
