AGARTALA, Aug 30 (TIWN): A disturbing case of domestic violence has come to light in the Chakmaghat area under Mungiakami police station in Tripura. A 24-year-old woman, Nurjahan Begum, was critically injured by her husband, Zakir Hossain, in a fit of rage. The incident occurred following a domestic dispute between the couple.

According to reports, Zakir Hossain allegedly attacked his wife with a sharp weapon, causing severe injuries to her neck. The victim was rushed to Teliamura Sub-Divisional Hospital, where she was provided primary treatment before being referred to GB Hospital due to the severity of her condition.

The police swiftly responded to the incident, arresting the accused husband and taking him into custody. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the grave concern of domestic violence in the region.
