“It has not helped the minorities in Bangladesh. Rather, it has instigated more attacks on Hindus there,” said senior Congress leader Prabir Chakraborty.

He blamed the BJP behind this incident and said, in the name of RSS and other units, BJP has directly fuelled the issue on such a sensitive international topic.

It can be mentioned here that yesterday, a group of agitators entered the Bangladesh Visa office and vandalized it. They took down the Bangladesh flag and set it on fire. Today seven persons were also arrested in this connection.

Congress said BJP activists along with top BJP faces were seen in that gathering.

However, at least seven persons were apprehended in Agartala for vandalizing the Bangladesh High Commissioner’s office, taking down the Bangladeshi flag and setting it on fire. Talking to media, SP Kiran Kumar said, they would be produced before the court and interrogated for details. He said, more people are on police’s radar and expected to be arrested.
