AGARTALA, July 7 (TIWN): The first ever kidney transplantation will take place in Tripura government hospital – GB. Ahead of the kidney transplant operation, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday met the Doctors at the hospital and also the donor and the patient. The patient is Shubham Sutradhar and the donor is his mother Munna Saha Sutradhar. While addressing media, after meeting the Doctors, CM said, “I have talked to the family and they are mentally strong. I am happy that such a treatment has been started in Tripura and I am confident that the operation to be successful.”
“I often hear about such kidney transplants issues where patients have to go to other states. We have all such doctors, specialists who are needed for such a kind of operation. Now, a team from Manipur has come and in future also they will come as we have 5-years MoU. Gradually, our doctors will be able to operate independently after training. Hoping that everything will be fine tomorrow,” said Dr. Saha.
