AGARTALA, May 22 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Punit Agarwal on Wednesday visited Umakanta Academy school, the place which has been designated as the strong room for the West Tripura constituency. The officer’s visit took place keeping the Lok Sabha counting day ahead that is scheduled on June 4. After the visit, Agarwal said, he was fully satisfied with the arrangements and CCTV cameras were functioning appropriately.
“A total 60 counting halls are around the state in 20 locations where counting will be held. To check if the arrangements are made properly or not, I have visited here. There will be three layers of security as per the norms and set up was be fully strengthened by April 26,” said the CEO.
“There is no question of negligence. My visit is aimed at perpetuating the environment as it is. Sufficient security forces, and fire accident-related arrangements all are up to the mark,” he said.
