AGARTALA, Feb 26 (TIWN): Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday attended foundation stone laying program by Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually. CM attended the virtual program from Agartala Railway station. The foundation stone laying program was held by PM Modi, dedicating to the National Redevelopment of 554 railway stations under AMRIT Bharat Station Scheme and 1500 Road over Bridges. Addressing media, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said, “Before PM Narendra Modi’s time, nobody could dream in Tripura that Rajdhani Express will ply from Agartala. Now we have 17-18 express trains, 20 trains connecting various states. We are connected from Manipur to so many corners of the country."
"For the modernization of rail stations, he released Rs. 260 crores whereas Rs. 46 crores were released this year. A total 41,000 crores were released for India’s overall development and modernization of 554 railway stations," he said.
“Earlier, we had only one option to go to other states. For education purposes, we had to first land in Kolkata and then long wait at Howrah station, or we had the option to go via Guwahati, but now under the Act-East policy PM Modi has brought a massive transport revolution in Tripura. Truly, PM Modi is a guarantee of guarantees,” said CM Manik Saha.
