AGARTALA, May 30 (TIWN): Women Police Volunteers on Monday gheraoed Police Headquarter, as they did not get an honorarium for 12 months who were recruited in the contract for 'women empowerment’.
They were reportedly deployed under “Nirvaya Funds” and a monthly 1000 was promised.
But for last few months, no honorarium was paid. In protest, the Police Volunteers gheraoed the Police headquarters.
They said, they will try to meet Chief Minister Manik Saha in this regard.
