AGARTALA, Feb 22 (TIWN): Amid ongoing controversy over Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb's remark naming Home Minister Amit Shah's name involving Nepal, Sri Lanka's names, Biplab Deb has now courted another controversy for using public taxes for his family expenditures. It has been revealed by a senior Congress leader that Biplab Deb used over fifty four thousand for his dog's flight fare for Agartala-Delhi distance and more for his son's bike transport cost. Earlier also, allegation raised against Deb for using helicopter for joining party rally drawing Govt fund and wasting lakhs and lakhs in renovation of CM's quarter which he has converted into a 5 star hotel like. Addressing about the issue, Congress leader Gopal Roy said, "On 8th February, 54,918 rupees had been paid for CM Biplab Deb's pet's flight fare from Agartala to Delhi".
"Moreover, for his son's bike transportation 4,644 rupees was paid on 18th February. How can a Chief Minister use public taxes from Govt fund ? The matter should be investigated", Roy added.
Similar controversies have been faced by the Chief Minister many times and in compare to the previous CMs in Tripura, Biplab Deb's expenditure is ten times more from security to luxury.
