AGARTALA, March 19 (TIWN): “To overcome the financial crisis situation that the state is undergoing following a 25 years of CPI-M era, BJP Govt may issue licenses to the barsâ€, a daily newspaper has reported.
According to the newspaper, a high-level meeting was conducted at Krishanagar BJP party Office on yesterday night after Finance Minister held press meet at Secretariat and presented the economic condition of the state , which is burdened with 11.50 crores of debts.
“In the meeting it was asked, if other states can provide bar licenses, why not Tripura ? In Battala like places illegally and openly liquors were selling years after years in front of police. So, it’s better to give licenses to the bars”, the media said.
Right now Tripura has not a single bar, as the previous govt never issued bar licenses. Many applications are waiting to get licenses.
