AGARTALA, Nov 15 (TIWN): MLA Ratan Lal Nath has punctuated Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar' image in the Assembly bringing charges for taking bribes from chit fund companies which had looted public money under his regime beyond 100 crores. One of the chit fund owners of such chit fund compnaies was Ratan Chowdhury who dealt with Sarkar for making a flat at Chief Minister's in-law's house at Krishna Nagar. The bribery charges against Manik Sarkar led mass uproar in the Assembly. At the same time it caused major face loss spotting the clean image of Manik Sarkar but Ratan Lal Nath brought the allegation after he was attacked personally many times by Manik Sarkar's CPI-M colleagues. However, many questions raised by opposition earlier about CM's silence about chit fund scams but this time Ratan Lal Nath's charges caused heavy faceloss for the CM.Why Chief Minister Manik Sarkar didn't bother about the then Finance Minister Badal Choudhury's concerns about the mushrooming of chit fund companies in Tripura ?

Later, Badal Choudhury was shifted from finance, revenue, whereas in 2013 when Sudipta Sen was arrested at Calcutta all the chit fund companies heads in Tripura were allowed to escape instead of being arrested. That time Manik Sarkar also the Law Minister of Tripura, but it took 7 years more to get a print out of the law in the Govt offices, but Manik Sarkar as the Law Minister was abide by all laws regarding Chit-fund, allowed Rose Valley disaster in state.

Sarkar’s “intimacy” with Chit fund groups were alleged, linked various times who not only promoted chit fund but also allowed the thieves to loot the public funds. Barman also raised question, why after 2013 when Sudipta Sen was arrested, Manik Sarkar allowed the chit fund scamsters to escape from state?
