AGARTALA, Oct 23 (TIWN): Poor people’s Govt CPI-M has once again shown its real colour when daily workers of Battala were beaten by police when they asked for their wages. Before Durga Puja Agartala Municipal Corporation had hired daily labours for extra works and engaged them in cleaning, repairing works. But when the workers asked for their wages, AMC officials told them to come after Durga Puja as the bill has not been sanctioned yet. On Monday, again the workers went to AMC office asking for their salaries, but the AMC officials told them to give their bank account numbers to get their money. But the poor daily workers denied to give any account number as maximum of them have not any bank account. But AMC officials told them that without bank account they will not pay their wages, which fueled the workers with mass anger.

Later the angry daily workers started protests in front of AMC demanding wages, but all of a sudden police rushed to the spot of protest and started lathi charges on them.Many workers were injured due to the heavy attacks by police.

Question fraises,

1.     Who permitted to lathi charge the poor labours, who were protesting for their wages ?

2.     Is it called the poor people’s party ruling in Tripura since 24 years ?

3.     Most important question  : During demonetization when the Central Govt had asked every Indians atleast to open bank accounts through Jandhan and move to cashless, instead of motivating the poor people CPI-M  here launched protests saying, ‘How the poor people will open bank accounts ?’ But suddenly  what happened that the AMC is unable to give salaries to the daily workers without bank accounts ?

During the press conference of Sunday, Tripura CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar alleged that the BJP Govt at Centre is for rich people. But how the CPI-M led AMC lathicharged the daily labours mercilessly when they asked for their wages ?

Police led lathicharge has injured many daily workers in front of Agartala Municipal Corporation that has fueled resentment among the daily workers in Agartala.
