KALAISHAHAR, Sept 12 (TIWN): That the safety and security of the lady officials in Tripura is now at stake has once again come to the notice of the people of Tripura as a lady TCS Officer raised a serious complaint of molestation against Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Kailashahar Subrata Choudhury , TCS -I . One TCS Grade II official namely Debbie Halam , a Probationer , posted in the Office of the SDM , Kailashahar under Unakoti District wrote a complaint letter to the District Magistrate & Collector , Unakoti District against the SDM Kailashahar stating that the SDM made an attempt to outrage her modesty. The official also expressed that she is feeling unsafe. This allegation clearly denies the fake and proud claim of the so called Honest(?) CM Manik Sarkar regarding the safety and security of the women in Tripura . Over the last few years serious allegations were raised against some top level official related to violence against women .

Once again the allegation of molestation has been raised against an administrator and this time the allegation has been raised not by an ordinary woman but a woman official of TCS rank .

It is learnt that Debbie Halam , a Deputy Magistrate and Collector , Office of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate , Kailashahar , Unakoti District on 9th September 2017 wrote the complain letter against the SDM , Kailashahar categorically stating ," This morning i.e., 08th September 2017 at about 7.45am Sri Subrata Chakraborty , SDM came to my quarter without informing me and seeing him I requested him to take seat but suddenly he started taking some unusual advances against me by grasping my head and tried to outrage my modesty . I tried to save myself from him hand and pushed his hands . "

  She is a DC of TCS II , 2016 (probationer ) and posted in the Office of the SDM , Kailashahar , Unakoti District since 8th August 2016 . The lady official categorically wrote ,"... .... I am feeling very much unsafe . "

  The copy of the complaint letter was addressed to the Chief Secretary and the Addl Secretary , GA(P & T) Department , Govt of Tripura .

In order to express  her anxiety regarding her safety the lady official specifically wrote ," As a lady officer I have my rights of privacy and no body can violate my right . It is my human right to inform the authority regarding this act . "

 That a sense of insecurity is engulfing the mind of the official with the apprehension of the same act getting repeated is expressed in her words ," I live with my 6 years old nephew and a maid in my quarter No 30 which is near to SDM's quarter . So there is every possibility to other offence without any trouble if it is tolerated and over looked the matter at present . "

 This letter has created an earthquake like situation in the state administration . According to TIWN sources latest report the DM of Unakoti is yet to take any step against the accused SDM , Subrata Chakraborty . The sources added that a departmental inquiry may be ordered against this said incident and this will simply be an attempt to subdue the issue . TIWN sources further added that tremendous pressure is now being put on Debbie Halam so that she does not lodge any complain before the police . But the fact is that this incident once again bears the proof of insecurity among the lady officials workig in different departments under Manik Sarkar led Govt of Tripura.
