Manik Sarkar’s B team Congress ‘dances into masters tune’ : State witnessed CPI-M sponsored strike called by petty Congress : Congress-CPI-M heading for pre-poll alliance in 2018 !

AGARTALA, July 20 (TIWN): Manik Sarkar’s negative politics via pet dogs continue as wednesday’s Strike not only backed by CPI-M but as per sources, CPI-M directly funded Birjit Sinha, Gopal Roy’s lameduck Congress strike across Tripura. Otherwise less than 100 supporters and few leaders how state Congress' Party’s 12 hours strike passed away peacefully with no untoward incidents ??? Political analysts of the state say that this became possible only due to undeclared but full cooperation from the ruling CPI-M party and actually this has turned out to be a govt sponsored strike, a rare instance in CPI-M ruled Tripura . Over the years Congress had called so many strikes on various issues during Manik Sarkar's regime but only in few cases opposition Congress could gain success due to strong opposition by the ruling CPI-M and by the CPI-M led govt. At that time Congress used to enjoy strong support base of 45% - 48% voters . Miraculously now , with less than 4% -5% support base , Congress succeeded to call two strikes in less than five months duration and both with massive success . This is a very interesting and rare phenomena in Tripura especially when CPI-M is in power .

Over the years state used to  witness strong protests from CPI-M party whenever any opposition party would call a strike . Taking upper hand of political and administrative power CPI-M leaders including Manik Sarkar used to utter words like ," Our Comrades will protest and make this strike a failure with all their forces ."

Encouraged by such speeches from top leadership , CPI-M cadres too used to hit the streets with slogans like :-

  1. Tomorrow all schools and offices will remain open
  2. Markets will remain normal
  3. All the wheels of vehicles will spin and spin (গাড়ির চাঁকা ঘুরছে ঘুরবে)
  4. All trike supporters will have to face dholai petai ( বন্ধ সমর্থকদের ধোলাই হবে পেটাই হবে ) ৷

But now all these slogans against Congress seem to have taken shelter in the abys of eternity . These days it is the same CPI-M which in reality extends the hands of cooperation towards Congress to make any of party movement successful . And the once famous slogan of Dholai Hobe Petai Hobe is not directed towards Congress ; now in Tripura we are familiar to hear slogans like "Beware all BJP goons( ) ! "

Talking all these into consideration and with the rising influence of BJP , CPI-M and Congress seem to have forgotten their traditional rivalries . Now both these parties are coming closer . Even few days back Birjit Sinha went to the CM 's residence and spent at least one hour with Manik Sarkar for the so called curtesy meeting And within 24 hours of this meeting Congress called the yesterday's strike .

At this stage when the CPI-M party has lost its credibility and foothold in national politics , it will try to do every possible thing that can ensure that CPI-M led govt comes to the power in Tripura again .

And for this CPI-M wont even think of forming pre-poll alliance with Congress. For Congress it will be a blessing as to some extent they can keep some of the assembly seats under their belt . Birjit Sinha and Gopal Roy too will be willing to form such alliance like the one happened in 2016 West Bengal Assembly poll . Thus, with new twist in Tripura too the traditional rivalry may be transformed into bosom friendship between Congress and CPI-M.

Tripura people may wonder why Manik Sarkar shown no interest to investigate sensitive murder & rape of maid servant  by MLA Gopal Roy's  security men at MLA's home, neither MLA Gopal Roy ever questioned Tripura CM's direct involevments in Chit Fund Scams.
