High level meet to discuss Tripura-Mizoram boundary issue on July 22

AGARTALA, July 16 (TIWN): A high level meeting of officials from Tripura and Mizoram is slated to be held on July 22. The meeting convened by the office of the Survey of India would discuss on finalizing the inter-state boundary mapping between Tripura and Mizoram, a highly placed source in the state Revenue Department said.

A letter from Office Surveyor of the Survey of India N Deb to Revenue Secretary Swapan Saha invited a delegation from the Government of Tripura to attend a meeting at Silchar in July 22. The meeting, scheduled to be held in presence of a delegation of the Government of Mizoram, would be chaired by the Director of Tripura, Manipur and Mizoram geo-spatial detection center of the nation’s apex mapping and engineering organization.

The meeting would discuss on detection of inter-state boundary line in Fuldensai village along the Tripura-Mizoram border, the source added.

Asked about the issue, an official of the Revenue Department said later this evening that a four member delegation headed by Revenue Secretary Swapan Saha would attend the meeting at Silchar. The delegation is expected to comprise of Director of Land Records and Settlement Pankaj Chakraborty, District Magistrate (North) Sanjeev Rathode and Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Kanchanpur) Nantu Ranjan Das.
