AGARTALA, April 4 (TIWN): NE state Tripura, being located at the end corner of the state is suffering heavily from acute petrol crisis.

On Tuesday, whereas maximum petrol pumps were dry, before few of the fuel stations, long queues of bikers was observed.

The Nationwide Truckers indefinite strike from 1st April is majorly affecting Tripura even though, Govt claims it has 6 times more fuel stock in fuel stations.

State Civil supply dept under Minister Bhanulal Saha already paralyzed Dept to such extent that civil supplies key officials stopped even informing general public and price controls.

Truck owners began an indefinite strike from Saturday to protest mainly against the proposed 50 per cent hike in the third party insurance premium, amid apprehensions that the protest could lead to supply disruption and raise commodity prices in the coming days.

Apart from Ganaraj Chowmuhani petrol pump, other petrol pumps in Agartala left dry without any fuel affecting the vehicular movement highly.

Tripura has 6 times more storage of fuel as per the Govt data, but the reason behind petrol crisis remained unexplainable till day. The fuel stations are disappointing the customers with full of 'no-petrol', 'no-diesel sign', neither any statement has been given by the state govt in this regard yet.

It's worthy to mention here that Whereas petrol crisis has hit the state and more than 500 bikers are standing in rows before petrol pumps,on March 23rd the left front wing DYFI held a massive bike rally at Agartala.

For political rallies there are no shortage of fuel but for common men they have to measure while stepping out with their vehicles/ bikes.

Resentment has brewed among the petrol pump workers and as well as customers as continuous fights are going on for petrol.

However, the Civil Service Dept is fully silent on the issue and Minister Saha is yet to hold any press conference regarding this.
