AGARTALA, March 19 (TIWN): Manik Sarkar Govt’s organized corruptions with central funded projects, multicrore corruptions in MGNREGA, NHM, PMAY, RMSA raised red flags with Central Ministries. Radha Mohan Singh, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare disappointed after surveying Tripura agricultural arrangement and production, raising complains about improper utilization with Central funds. The Minister while delivering speech in a review meeting held Lembuchara based fishery college, said, “Tripura’s 73 % people are residing over rural areas, where 60 % are living in ADC areas. But the condition of irrigation arrangement for farmers are pathetic.

Only 42% of agricultural fields are under proper irrigation process, whereas nation-wide the percentage is 55 %”. Minister also asked the Govt to modernize agriculture and boost irrigation as fast as possible.

However, during the meeting it was said that 24 % people in Tripura are farmers.

In the year 2014-15 a total 444 hector lands were brought under irrigation, but till day no utilization certificate has been sent by Tripura Govt to the Centre.

Minister further strictly warns that if utilization certificate is not given, the next time fund will not be sanctioned for Tripura.

“It was aimed that within 2017 March--- across India, Soil Health Card should be given to farmers but Tripura did nothing in that. Only 40% people have soil health cards here in Tripura”, Minister added.

He also said, “An 18 year old demand is pending in Tripura about making Agriculture College in every Districts, but there is no request from the state govt whereas in every sectors the fund is giving to Tripura with 90 : 10 ratio”.

However, Singh further said that within next July atleast in 4 Dist there should be attempts for Agriculture Colleges and he himself will inaugurate the foundation stone.

During his visit in Tripura, Singh inaugurated a multi-technology testing centre for which 2 crores he has given to Tripura Govt. For fish cultivation---15 crores was given to Tripura Govt.

“For Fishery 867 lakhs rupees was sanctioned for Tripura, but a state has certain responsibilities to develop the infrastructure of the state”, added Singh.

However, praising the Prime Minister Singh said that before becoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi was a Chief Minister in a state and the basic argument began regarding funds. That’s why after coming in power the fund was radically increased for the states.

“As per Indian Constitution PM and CM will work cooperatively and Education and Agriculture has been given the utmost importance by PM Modi.

Minister further asked the state representatives also to focus on dairy production and fishing cultivation.
