AGARTALA, Dec 4 (TIWN): Whereas 50 % teachers in Tripura are yet untrained; and regarding Tripura recruitment policy's violation the state Govt here always gives the excuses of lack of enough trained candidates, but on Sunday it was seen that total 3,439 trained youths had appeared in the 3rd TET Exam held by Tripura Govt. However, the TET was always out of imagination under CPI-M Era, unless High Court had ordered the govt to recruit Teachers via TET Exam. Manik Sarkar on Saturday evening lectured the Central Govt a long during a programme held at Agartala town hall about how to generate employment by domestic made products, whereas his own state is burdened with 7 lakhs unemployed youths. On the one hand he himself accepted that price of daily commodities here are more than other states, as maximum items here are exported on the other hand, the same chief minister was lecturing how to increase the production in the country.

Reportedly, a total 3,439 candidates appeared in TET examination for 2,115 posts of Graduate and Post Graduate Teachers.

Total number of 1,605 applicants had applied for the post of Graduate Teachers and 1,834 applicants applied for the post of Post Graduate posts.

The  vacancy for 1,294 Graduate teachers for class IX and X and vacancy 821 Post Graduate teachers has been kept. Among 1,294 Graduate teachers’ posts, 673 posts are approved for Under Reserved (UR) category, 220 posts for Scheduled Caste (SC) category and 401 posts for Scheduled Tribe (ST) category. And among 821 Post Graduate teachers’ posts, 428 posts are approved for 428 UR category, 141 posts for SC category and 252 posts for ST category, he added.

All the candidates for both these tests appeared in Agartala centre on November 20. The Selection Test for Graduate Teachers (STGT) took place from 09.30 am to 12 noon and Selection Test for Post Graduate Teachers (STPGT) from 01 pm to 03.30 pm.

However the persons who will finally get job after qualifying in TET will receive a fixed pay salary for the next 5 years., which come around Rs. 7.000/ for senior basic & Rs. 5000/ for primary teachers.

Already many people received the posting letter upto Class 10 with higest salary of Rs. 7,000/-.

Last year TET exam result was pathetic, for which govt. decided to take Re-TET.  Around 14 % candidates has passed in last TET, which showed the Education quality of Tripura Education System.

Since Ministry of human resource development (MHRD) ordered not to appoint teachers without conducting the Teachers' Eligibility Test (TET), the state government has postponed appointing teachers for the 1.5 lakh vacant posts of undergraduate teachers in state-run schools. Despite the mandatory directives of the Centre to follow the National Council of Teachers' Education (NCTE) to bring qualified and meritorious people as teachers, the state government did not follow it and provided jobs to party cadres. Although after that TET was held, but none of them has received job letter yet.

Under CPI-M Eras, Job recruitment, Promotion have become contradictory & the Tripura government has been opposing the setting up of the school service commission and TET. But the Central Govt. rejected to agree with that as under Right to Education Era, it has been mandatory to pass TET before appointing as teachers in every states.

But after TET was launched in Tripura, job-appointing corruption didn’t leave the state. From Firemen job to TBSE, in every sectors youths started to questioning about Job appointment. Under Tripura Govt. while appointing someone in a post for Govt. employee no rule is followed, which was proven when Tripura High Court canceled in total 10,323 teachers job, finding massive corruption held under Tripura Education dept, while recruiting someone in job.

However, with all these finally the 3rd TET which to be held in Tripura on November 20, was postponed for bi-election and conducted on Sunday.
