AGARTALA, July 30 (TIWN): Following the riot staged by the common mass on Friday morning by blocking the movement of the ministers vehicles near secretariat, the cabinet ministers were seen taking alternative route to Secretariat crossing Durga Chowmuhani and Barjala. The common people have lost their patience and now have started raising voice against the escaping tendency of the ministers from every situation. Common people brought out a protest march in Agartala against the Manik Sarkar led Left Front government in failing to address the ongoing fuel crisis in the state continuing for the last more than one month which has led to the government imposing fuel rationing and casketing affect on the price of daily necessary commodities. It is to be mentioned here that the entire state in clutched under massive traffic jam following the road blockade at different parts of Agartala city. From school bus, to ambulance, public vehicles all are crawling in the roads following the road blockade.

Huge police personnel, TSR have been deployed to avoid any untoward incident in the state. However, with the intervention of the West police SP the situation was brought under control but it seems like common people have decided to compel CM Manik Sarkar and his cabinet ministers to take immediate intervention towards the acute petrol crisis.

Hopefully this is called power of common people where people know to fight for their rights and can even give jolts to the ministers for their rights.

The common people while protesting openly claimed that Tripura’s situation has turned worst due to the misrule of the ruling government in the state. However, it can be said that CPI-M vote bank in 2018 assembly election might face a massive jolt in the state.

Tripura under the prolonged leadership of CM Manik Sarkar has witnessed heights of under-development in the state where still today the facility of drinking water to basic health service is at stake. The problems does not ends here, the state under the leadership of the CPI-M have become victimised to embezzlement of funds, MGNREGA scams, crippled roads, crisis of commodities, rising crime against women by the CPI-M MLA, nil industrial set up and many more and the same party is busy in holding series of meetings clamouring the slogans of so called Golden era.

What is Golden era? The common people on Friday raised question.  What have been the Ministers doing when the responsibility of the NH8(44) was under state PWD department.  Poeple further claimed that the crippled condition of NH8(44) is not an impact of one or two months results the roads have turned immovable since 2013, when the State PWD took it from BRO.

After the Ministry of Road Transport and Highway (MoRTH) handed over development and maintenance of 104 km of the Assam Agartala National Highway (NH8-44) to the PWD from Border Roads Organization (BRO) in July 16th, 2013, the condition of the NH8-44 is getting worse day-by-day due to negligence of PWD. It is to be mentioned here that earlier, when the maintenance work of NH8-44 was under Border Roads Organization (BRO) the maintenance work was progressing in a rapid speed since, after the PWD got the opportunity the maintenance work has stopped.

Lack of maintenance years after years have made the road immovable and now common people are the ultimate sufferer.
