AGARTALA, July 1 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar’s suspicious role behind promoting rapist Panna Ahmed as Joint Director of Sports, then CM’s direct role in shielding Minister Shahid Chowdhury’s criminal activities, whose wife not only directly involved with Sonamura’s dreaded smuggling rackets, also Shahid Chowdhury, Panna Ahmed’s relatives like Roman Mia, who is known as the Phensydyl smuggling king of Sonamura. CM Manik Sarkar was forced to get rid of Shahid Chowdhury from 2008 CPI-M Ministry due to direct involvement of Minister Shahid with HUJI, Al Qaeda terrorist Mamun Mia. Shahid Chowdhury and his wife not only sheltered dreaded Bangladeshi terrorist Mamum Mia at their home, then arranged rented accommodation and financed HUJI Islamic terrorist activities. Rapist TCS officer Panna Ahmed, his brother-in-law Phensedyl smuggling mafia Roman Mia, HUJI terrorist Mamum Mia all belongs to Shahid Chowdhury’s Assembly constituency Boxnagar, Sonamura, also notoriously known for Tripura’s highest Ganja (Marijuana) productions.

Under the pressure of narcotics smugglers and CPI-M lobbies, Panna Ahmed was appointed as SDM Sonamura in place of upright SDM Subhashis Das as over Rs 100 crores Ganja fields were destroyed.

Tripura CM directly responsible for Panna Ahmed’s appointment as SDM Sonamura, followed by further appointment as Joint Director of Sports. Also its Tripura CM who made a career criminal as Sports Minister rather than packing these smugglers into jail. So, its no surprise that Tripura has become heaven for international drug smuggling rackets.

Back in 2008, it was West Bengal Police CID team which exposed that Minister Shahid Chowdury was having liaison with HUJI Terrorist Mamun. Shahid arranged a rented house for Mamun Mia in Agartala, helped Bangladeshi terrorist in getting Permanent Resident Certificate and Passport. Shahid Chowdhury and his wife were frequent visitors in Mamun’s rented shelter in Agartala.

Its West Bengal Police CID team which tracked HUJI terrorist Mamun Miah’s nexus with Minister Shahid Chowdhury, arrested Maun Miah on March 27, 2008; otherwise Manik Sarkar’s Tripura Police wouldn’t have touched this HUJI terrorist and his relative Minister Shahid Chowdhury.

Due to national and statewide public protests, Manik Sarkar was compelled to axe Shahid Chowdhury from Tripura Cabinet in 2008 to save CPI-M’s face. Shahid Chowdhury was having relations with members of global terrorist organisations, Al Qaeda and Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami, Bangladesh (HUJI).

However Manik Sarkar’s mutual admiration for Shahid Chowdhury never faded so CM Manik brought back Shahid Chowdhuty into cabinet in 2013 as Sports Minister.

Even there were allegations that Shahid Chowdhury himself is a kingpin of Boxnagar smuggling rackets.

Sports Minister alleged to have relations with Mamun Mia, allegedly an active member of Al Qaeda and HUJI.

Shahid Chowdhury was elected to the state legislative assembly for several times from Boxanagar constituency under Muslim dominated Sonamura Sub Division.

On the other hand, Mamun Mia is a suspected Bangladeshi HUJI operative having stronghold at Kolkata. Mamun Mia rushed to Agartala via Bangladesh from West Bengal in 2007, took  shelter and  started collecting money for terrorist organisations. His another motive was to circulate fake Indian currency in the local market. During his stay at Agartala he stayed at a rented house at Ramnagar Road Number One. A special team of West Bengal CID arrested him from this house on March 27, 2008.

Shahid Chowdhury?s name came in the limelight when some local newspapers disclosed his relations with Mamun. The media reports also revealed that the suspected guy got cooperation from Chowdhury in all respect. 

back in 2008, leader of Opposition in state Assembly Ratan Lal Nath demanded immediate expulsion of the minister and setting up of an Inquiry Commission with a sitting High Court judge as its head. Nath wrote a letter to Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and conveyed his deep concerns saying unless the said Minister is expelled, the secrecy of the government could be available to anti-India forces and may invite new threats to the internal security. 

The allegations against the CPM leader Shahid Chowdhury are: He had liaison with HUJI terrorist Mamun, he arranged a rented house for him in Agartala; he helped him in getting Permanent Resident Certificate and, Passport; and he visited Mamun?s rented shelter place several times with his wife. 

SDM of Sonamura Panna Ahmed was well known as land grabber and partner of all smuggling rackets in Sonamura-Boxnagar region.

Panna Ahmed grabbed properties of the local people by misusing SDM's administrative power during his tenure in Sonamura..

According to sources, land mafias of Sonamura with the help of SDM Panna Ahmed evicted poor Hindu families of Sonamura Sub-Division.

Residents of Sonamura said that several times they have went to the then District Magistrate (DM) Parshant Kumar Goyal regarding the issue but no action has been taken against Panna Ahmed till date due to Panna's close relation with the CPI-M led State Government.

It was reported that, not only land grabbing, Panna Ahmed's family is also engaged in smuggling of contraband items. Moreover, Panna Ahmed's brother-in-law namely Roman Mia is also known as Phensedyl king of Sonamura.

Several cases of land grabbing are already registered against SDM Panna Ahmed. But no one is able to take stern action Panna Ahmed due to his close relation with CPI-M, said sources.

It is to be mentioned here that former upright SDM of Sonamura Subasish Das was transferred for doing his job honestly by destroying over Rs. 100 crores worth of ganja fields.

According to analysis, cash-starved CPI-M has undergone a serious financial crisis from the demolition of cannabis worth Rs. 100 crores. Cannabis cultivation always directly helped CPI-M Party funds.  And this was the reason for the transfer of an honest TCS officer Subhashis Das.

Now in 2016, it’s the same CM Manik Sarkar, rather than immediate arrest and expulsion after rape case against Panna Ahmed, decided to protect criminals as these criminals like Panna, Mamun, Shahid are prime suppliers of cash into CPI-M’s party fund.
