AGARTALA, June 30 (TIWN): On the one hand where the state is yet reeling under the continuous threat of petrol crisis, the so called efficient government of Manik Sarkar is busy in blaming Assam and central government for the poor condition of NH44 rather than taking any measures for the renovation of the road.

Irregularities in the supply of petrol tankers have again led to this petrol crisis. Over past few days consumers are badly suffering with the prolonged petrol crisis in the state.

Fuel crisis continues to suffer the state with board of ‘No Petrol’ hanging in front of the major petrol pumps.

The crises have hampered the regular movement of vehicles in the capital as well as the sub-division with number of vehicle owners queuing up in the petrol pumps in the area.

It seems like the consumers of the State are yet to get relief from the prolonged petrol crisis. According to the sources, the prolonged fuel crisis hits the petrol pumps due to the dilapidated condition of the National Highway.

However getting petrol from any of the petrol pump has become a challenge and a matter of patience as the riders had to wait for many hours.

The petrol crises have hampered the regular movement of vehicles in the sub-division with number of vehicle owners queuing up in the petrol pumps in the area.

It is to be mentioned here that taking advantage of the situation the petrol dealers of the State were emerging in a new trend to earn more money through black marketing which causes artificial petrol crisis in the State.

The acute diesel as well as petrol crisis created chaos among the state people. Following the crisis in Tripura, movement of vehicles has been collapsed partially. Especially the vehicles move to out of the state is facing difficulties at such situation.

It is to be mentioned here that most of the petrol pump of the city area running dry and a long queue of people is seen from the early morning waiting in the petrol pump to collect petrol. Hundreds of vehicles were seen in queue in front of petrol filling station while many centres had hanged the board of no-petrol.

Majority of the petrol pumps in the state capital hanged the board of no-petrol due to lack of fresh petrol supply, forcing the desperate consumers to buy petrol from black market at a hefty price.

Tripura is experiencing a major fuel crisis as the regular movement of vehicles has been badly hampered due to the dilapidated condition of the National Highway 44 in Lower Poha in Assam.

The state totally dependent on the highway, which is considered the lifeline, for importing fuel from Assam, the crisis has been on for the last 15 days.

A majority of fuel filling stations have put up signs of 'no petrol' and 'no diesel' in the wake of fuel tankers not coming through the 12-kilometer stretch between Patherkandi in Assam and Churaibari in Tripura, which has turned into paddy field due to incessant rains.

There is also a long queue of bikers and vehicles at various fuel filling stations.
