HABIGANJ Dist. (Bangladesh) / KHOWAI, June 26 (TIWN): About 250 Hindu tribals stranded in Indo-Bangla border was pushed back after BSF/ BGB flag meeting held on Saturday. Hindu Tribals were forcefully pushed back to Bangladesh towards an ‘uncertain future’ as Islamic Bangladesh Forest guards destroyed their homes. Situation still remains tense as further atrocities are expected from Bangladeshi Islamic fundamentalists. Khowai SP Jayanta Chakraborty while talking to TIWN said, “Nobody was allowed to enter beyond zero point to enter India, but food was provided to them sufficiently”. Asking about the situation there he said, “The situation is fully under control, they couldn’t enter India ”. “After flag meeting between BSF-BGB (Bangladesh Border Guards) all were pushed back to Bangladesh”, said Chakraborty. Reportedly, uprooted Hindus were starving and suffering since 2 days due to sudden attack and destruction of their homes. Bangladeshi Hindus were stranded at Indo-Bangla Border Gate number 10, border pillar numbering was 1965.

Even though these displaced Hindu refugees wanted to remain under Indian protection but BGB pushed them back to their village. Bangladeshi Hindus from Chunarughat, under Habiganj, tried to cross Indian border at Khowai on Saturday morning but  BSF 130th Battalion stopped them.

Atroticties on Bangaldeshi Hindus continue as mass rapes, looting, murders, destroying temples continue due to Islaminisation of Bangladesh.

On June 10 the unidentified attackers hacked a 62-year-old Hindu monastery worker to death. In January this year, a local homeopath Samir Ali, who had converted into Christianity, was found murdered in Jhenaidah.

Another Ananda Gopal Ganguly, the 70 year-old victim, was riding a bicycle to Naldanga Bazar to perform puja when he was attacked by three men who came on a motorcycle carrying sharp weapons, local police said. Apart from that there are more incidents related to attacks upon Hindu at Bangladesh and the Khowai Indo-Bangla border incident is another example of such an incident.

There are continuous attacks upon Minorities in Bangladesh. Although Bangladesh is officially secular, around 90% of Bangladesh’s 160 million people are Muslims, while 8% are Hindus. Report says, in 1971 Hindus population was almost one-third (30 percent) of the population according to official census, in 1972- 20%, and in 2014- it is just 10%.
