Agartala, Sept 20 (TIWN) Health Minister Tapan Chakraborty expressed serious displeasure regarding the misconduct of a senior doctor against Ratan Lal Nath. Talking to reporters here today at civil secretariat the minister said that he condemns the behavior and it is unjustified on the part of the doctor to misbehave an elected representative and former opposition leader.
He informed that two inquiry committee was set up to inquire the incident – the first committee headed by director of health department Dr. S R Debbarma will inquire the allegation about misconduct of the doctor and second committee headed by Prof Siddhartha Majumder of AGMC will inquire the cause of death of the child.
The health minister said on September 8, Sanjib Debbarma, son of Kartick Debbarma of Udaysenapati para in Mohanpur subdivision was admitted in the hospital pediatric ward with high fever and breathing complaint. “ After brief treatment the child was released from the hospital prescribing some medicine” Mr. Chakraborty added.
After reaching home his condition again deteriorated and was brought death at GB hospital. As per rule if a body brought death post mortem was mandatory. On this Congress MLA, Nath raised objection and demanded autopsy should be done on record and in front of a magistrate. On this at one point of time Dr. Ranjit Kumar Das the in charge of the morgue got wild and started passing ugly gesture at former opposition leader.An FIR was lodged against the Dr. Das and one senior physician of the hospital’s pediatric department at East Agartala police station .
