AGARTALA, May 28 (TIWN): Mamata Banerjee brings out a good news for the state gov't employees of West Bengal on the very first day of the 2nd innings of the Trinamool Congress Gov't after the thumping victory in assembly poll . Soon after the completion of the Oath Taking ceremony held in Red Road Mamata Banerjee led TMC Gov't called its first meeting of the Cabinet , where portfolios of the ministers were distributed . And after the end of the first cabinet meeting of the TMC Gov't Finance Minister Dr Amit Mitra came to meet the media in Nabanna declaring a hike of 10% in Pay Band for the state gov't employees of West Bengal . This is will be effective from 1st July .

Thus, much before the imposition of the proposals of 7th Pay Commission state employees in Bengal will get an absolute hike of 10% in respective Pay Band.

With this news there are certainly overwhelming responses from gov't employees in West Bengal while state gov't employees in Tripura seem to be living under complete darkness with only 79% DA in compared to 125% DA of Central Gov't employees.

This means that under the regime of Honest (?) CM Manik Sarkar state gov't employees in Tripura are getting 46% less only in DA in comparison with the Centre . It is to be mentions here that in March 2015 Chief Minister Manik Sarkar in a Press Meet declared that state gov't increased Pay Structure and Grade Pay of state employees at par with Central Gov't w.e.f. 1.1.2006 ( with notional fixation). In that press meet Manik Sarkar categorically mentioned that the difference of DA between the state and central gov't employees will be brough down to Zero(0) gradually. But in January Manik Sarkar gov't released only 5% DA and thus state employees are now getting 79% DA while the Union Gov't employees are getting 125% DA. Even then Mamata Banerjee led TMC Gov't released 10% DA.

In West Bengal CPI-M's employees' union campaigned sharply against Mamata Banerjee for not releasing any DA for its employees before election. But in Tripura CPI-M's employees' union H B Road is simply acting as CPI-M cadre completely forgetting the interests of the employees. Even when the employees are suffering very badly as far as salary is concerned H B Road leaders remain busy urging the employees to raise voice against ' imperialism ' , 'intolerance' etc but they are not seen to utter words demanding hike in salary.

Being angry with this puppet politics a top level H B Road leader told TIWN on Friday night ," I can't reveal my identity as this will mean that gov't will not lose any time to transfer me to remote areas. But it is true that this Manik Sarkar led gov't is simply cheating with state gov't employees. It is really very shameful that even the Chief Minister himself is not keeping his promises made before the employees( bringing down the gap of DA to Zero ) . " The HB Road leader made a sharp attack against the CPI-M Gov't saying ," Even when the Chief Minister said in March 2015 that state gov't increased the pay band and grade pay at par with 6 CPC , it was nothing but a deliberate lie on the part of the CM . "

He further said that a Primary Teacher in Tripura gets grade pay of Rs 2200/- while a Central gov't employees in the same rank gets grade pay of Rs 4200/-. Again a Graduate Teacher of Tripura gets Grade Pay of Rs 2800/- while a central gov't employee in the same rank gets Grade Pay of Rs 4400/- . This was made intentionally by the Manik Sarkar's govt because Manik Sarkar knows that the bulk of state gov't employees works under these ranks. With the Central gov't likely to implement the proposals of 7CPC , the future of state gov't employees under the regime of  the Honest(?) CM Manik Sarkar is almost certain to be gloomy.
