AGARTALA, May 4 (TIWN): The telecommunication services in Tripura have deteriorated in the past few days because of poor internet connectivity and congestion in the network due to the storm and rain.
BSNL authorities have blamed inadequate communication channels compared to the number of users, while private operators held BSNL responsible for the poor tele-infrastructure in the state. Government telecom operator, BSNL's network failed from Sunday evening till today after the storm. Subscribers kept pressing their key pads but none of the numbers could get connected due to the server error. People were not able to neither receive nor make calls since last 3 days. Officials in BSNL stated that Narendra Modi led central government has been continuing the efforts in favour of private players and BSNL in Northeast were dumped with low quality equipments and allocation of fund is also low despite BSNL is the backbone of telecom service in the region. The technical problems with BSNL network have been troubling its subscribers quite often.

Many customers whose relatives were admitted to hospitals, or if someone had important office work, he could not make calls due to the error but his balance was always deducted.

However, when all the information and the works are mostly done through the telecommunication service, the state is still dealing with the slow connectivity service.

The administration is not taking any initiative to sort out the problems. The BSNL subscribers have placed repeated complaints at the local BSNL department, but in vain.

The call gets disconnected any time for several times in a day, as the source said here. The sources said this regular disruption in connection is an affect of the technical snag and causing serious communication problem.

Along with telecommunication service Internet service has strongly disrupted in Tripura in last few days. The telecommunication services in Tripura have deteriorated in the past few days because of poor internet connectivity and congestion in the network.

Prolonged deplorable condition of the telecommunication connectivity provided by BSNL hits the people with acute disruption in the day to day communication, where as IT minister Tapan Chakraborty is least bothered to take any action to improve the condition of the IT service in the state.

With increasing number of consumers complaining about the lack of broadband speeds despite operators promising the same, whereas IT Minister Tapan Chakraborty is mum over the issue.

The term broadband refers to high-speed Internet access that is generally faster than the traditional dial-up access. However, the delivery of broadband speeds in Tripura is abysmally slow, and in most cases even half of what is promised by operators.
