AGARTALA, April 30 (TIWN): Right to Education’s signboards although are found hanging before every schools, but after 7 years of implementation of RTI across India, Tripura state govt. has failed to provide quality Education in schools.

Tripura grabbing the highest literacy rate in India, but schools here are suffering from lack of teachers and basic infrastructures.

The RTE (Right To Education) Act was implemented in the year 2009 which was meant to be free and compulsory education to all children between 6 to 14 years, with good quality of Education and healthy food.  But for Tripura Mid-day-meal works like a threat to children’s lives.

RTE Act’s main goal has been to achieve 100% literacy rate across the country and increase the awareness levels. State Tripura which has been caught red-handed after publishing vague reports in MGNREGA, however has successfully topped with highest literacy rate, but when the TET exam was held state showed its quality of Education -----as  among 306 candidates for primary teachers only 13 students could qualify the test.

In RTE it was clearly said that it is to excess to ‘Quality Education’  here in every state, for which huge number of funds are allocated in state. But Tripura’s rural schools in compare to the town area’s schools has no equality and suffering from lack of quality.

In many schools basic infrastructure as light, fan etc are also not available. Building, drinking water facility etc are matter of so far way.

The right to education is not only the right to access education but also the right to receive an education of good quality but Education must be available and accessible but also acceptable and adaptable.
