AGARTALA, Feb 27 (TIWN) : Clashes between IPFT and CPI-M has hit the voting centers at North Tripura. As soon as the vote counting had began at there, reportedly in many blocks both the IPFT and CPI-M members started turmoil before the vote counters. The matters gone worst when in 4 blocks IPFT had occupied many seats and rest was occupied by CPI-M, but according to IPFT they would win all the seats. After that few of the local supporters from both the parties came into fight especially before Damcharra block. However, at that moment CRPT came into action and managed the situation. But after that frequently clashes started before many vote-counters. When the matter went on the peak, Election Commissioner declared for re-counting in few polling centres. However, among the counting centers the Darja Block and Damchara block have been selected for re-counting. Election Commissioner G K Rao had left for North Tripura at around 4 pm from Agartala. At Damcharra IPFT had earlier occupied 2 seats, and CPI-M 5 but after counting IPFT has got 5 and CPI-M has got 2 seats only.

It was before these 2 centres where the members from both the parties started to clash among themselves. But at Kanchanpur and in some other places also counting is going on.

Reportedly, at Darja block CPI-M had occupied 9 seats, whereas IPFT has occupied 1 seat (Pre-counting report).

Apart from these blocks, IPFT at Jumpui Hill got 2 seats and at Laljuri 1 seat.  At Panisagar the competition was tough: BJP 3 seats, CPI-M-11 and INC-7 and at Kalachara BJP-1, CPI-M-6 and Cong-6.

Regarding all these tough competitions clashes started in ADC areas among the local supporters.

It’s to be mentioned here that already there were many clashes between CPI-M and IPFT during the polling session and counting session and ragging by IPFT is pursing in many places including the Khowai Dist. too. Even on Monday during the last day of election campaign both CPM & IPFT were in full strive to dominate over the rallies. Reportedly, especially in Khowai Dist. the chances of clashes have increased a lot.

The chances of clashes have been increased in this ADC Election, as in last ADC polls, except CPM, no strong party came out like this. But this time it’s IPFT, the party which is already in controversy for their demands of separate Tiwpra Land is in full power, which has created a terror among the local people of every ADC villages.
