Crime against women on rise: House wife brutally murdered in broad day light

AGARTALA, February 9 (TIWN): Chief Minister Manik Sarkar where claims that the Tripura is developing faster than any other State, on the other hand, women are yet unsafe in their own houses. Reportedly, in a bizarre incident on Tuesday early morning, a house wife has been brutally murdered after the miscreants have looted the commodities of the house.Getting alarm of the incident the police rushed to the spot and started with the investigation. However, the police suspect that the son of the woman is involved in the crime. Besides, investigation is going on in the area.Reportedly, the women were killed after her ears are being chopped.According to the reports, the name of the victim is Gouri Chakraborty who was brutally beaten in the broad day light. It is to be mentioned here that according to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) report, Tripura ranked 4th especially in crime against women with 88 percent of crime against women.

Similarly, according to the Crimes in India 2013 report published by National Crimes Record Bureau (NCRB), Tripura had registered 1628 cases of various crimes against women during 2013.

According to the earlier reports, altogether 840 cases related to crime against women were registered by January 2015 across the state.

Among the total women violence cases, 544 cases in connection to dowry death were lodged at different police stations.

However, the report says that the crime against women is rising day by day.

When the crimes against women had already taken a top most position in Tripura, the State Government is least bothered to look in to the situation.

However, though the State Government has established women police station and recruited more number of women in every sector yet the initiatives has been allegedly failed to curb down the crime against women.

However, number of seminars, workshops and awareness camp has also fails to create awareness among the people.

It is to be mentioned here that the crime against women in increasing day by day which also includes domestic violence, rape and others.
