KAMALPUR, Dec 31 (TIWN): The year 2015 would end with different saga for different people. Different organization and personalities would also pass the year with their respective accounts of success and failure. But when it came about the different departments of government of Tripura, the fate seemed more or less the same and it’s blended with corruption and embezzlement.

And the Salema Agricultural sub-division had the same shameful fate of scam and it’s too remained unresolved. And most importantly, the accused official Pradip Roy got ready to enjoy colourful New Year’s evening. In the month of April-May this year, the scam of Putiachara NWDPRA project got revealed. It got unearthed that, the implementing officer Pradip Roy gobbled almost 12, 00, 000 of rupees by showing the amount as disbursed to the beneficiaries. But actually, the amount was not disbursed to the beneficiaries.

Then the beneficiaries set up non-political forum namely “Deprived Beneficiaries United Forum”. And to snatch the air from the Forum, the CPI-M staged protest rallies and deputations. In a hurry, the department set an enquiry team. And after the completion of the investigation, Pradip Roy was found guilty. Then he got ordered to pay back the entire amount. And now, he continued to pay back the amount in instalments. He not suffered any punishment. And probably, the golden Tripura provided a message to the corrupts that, the punishment would only be the paying back of embezzled amount.

The deprived beneficiaries got passing times heaving sighs on their fates and remained busy in pondering over the nature of the golden administration. In this scenario, they left in despair that, the New Year failed to usher any new ray of hope for them.
