Polling personnel’s to leave for the polling stations on Dec 6, says EC GK Rao

AGARTALA, Nov 30 (TIWN): Keeping eye on the safe conduct of the municipal election, the polling personnel’s appointed for the ensuing municipal election slated to be held on December 9 are scheduled to leave for their polling station on Dec 6.

It is to be mentioned here that all the appointed polling personnel who are given the responsibility to conduct the election is schedule to leave for the polling station on December 6 and will supervise the arrangements at the polling station.

However, election commissioner GK Rao said that this decision was taken to conduct an error free election in the state.

It is to be mentioned here that Police officers and teachers of state schools will be allowed to cast their postal ballot on December 2, Election Department said. The postal ballot will continue till December 4.

Police officials, TSR, teachers and government officials who will be engaged in the election duty will be able to cast their vote through postal ballot on December 2 and till December 4.  Rest of the common people will cast their vote on December 9.

It is to be mentioned here that almost all the political parties here in Tripura have geared up for the upcoming Municipal election which is scheduled to be held on December 9.     

State chief election commissioner further said that counting of votes for 5 lakhs, 37 thousand, and 986 voters would take place onDecember 12.  Among them 2 lakhs, 69 thousands and 214 are male voters and 2 lakhs, 68 thousands and 754 are female voters.

The final photo voter lists for the ensuing Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC), 13 Municipal Councils and 6 Nagar Panchayats is announced by state election department. Besides, the names of SDM and BDOs appointed for one zilla parishad seat, one panchayat samiti seat and 25 wards of gram panchayat is also announced.
