AGARTALA, Nov 27 (TIWN): Chief Minister Manik Sarkar where busy to attend 24 rallies for the upcoming civic poll, several health centre in the interiors of the State are running deplorable. Most of the health centres are running lack of adequate number of doctors and nurses. Many sanctioned posts are laying vacant thus rendering costly medical infrastructure created at these health institutions remains useless because they lack specialists to operate them. The doctors prefer lucrative urban postings rather than serving at a PHC.Patients visits the hospitals for immediate treatment but the lack of doctors and availability of doctors lately makes the patients to suffer.Reportedly, the patients had to wait for hours to visit the doctor. Even in the case of emergency also the patient family to get doctor on time. Sometime due to delay in the treatment the patient had to suffer and some time they die waiting for the doctors on time. The State Government had opened the primary health centre with a purpose to serve the population of the area, but today it has failed to ensure proper services due to staff crunch and negligence of the current staffs including lack of infrastructure. The government claims to have opened several PHCs but delivery of services is far from satisfactory results. Ultimately, patients are the sufferers who have to not only have to visit other health institutions, including private, but also shells out more money to get the timely medical facilities.

However, it becomes hectic for the poor people to shell out such a hefty amount of money for the health service and sometime they remains without any kind of health assistance.

Similarly, if we look in to the scenario of the referral hospital GBP, hundreds of patients lay down on the floor just because the hospital lacks bed and some of the poor families are unable to pay the for the bed.

The Left Rule Government where claims to stand behind the poor and to provide better service to the public of the State, seems like fails to provide better health service in the major referral Hospital of the State, GBP.

The pitiable condition of the GBP Hospital does not end here, for any test after collecting the blood patients are asked to take the sample of blood to the laboratory for test whereas it is the duty of the appointed staff in the GBP Hospital.

Cracks is the wall of the hospitals and fungus are witnessed in the rooms and cabins where burn patients and serious patient are admitted.

However, before election the political parties enthusiastically unveil the party manifesto with several promises but later after winning the election the bundles of promises turn in to empty promises.
