AGARTALA, Nov 26 (TIWN): Election comes and goes but various Political parties stage managed drama, false promises never ends ! Before election, bundles of promises are made by various parties including the ruling party CPI-M with the sole aim to fool people. But once the election is over all these turns into as 'Empty-Promises'. On Wednesday, the two most prominent opposition parties of state Tripura, BJP & Cong. published their manifestoes through press conferences. However, CPI-M State President Bijan Dhar spoke to TIWN correspondent and informed CPI-M is not going to release any manifestos in this election. “Infact, in local body elections, CPI-M never gives manifestos”, says Dhar. He also added, “ As presently this state is governed by left front, so party will show developments though actions, not by empty-promises”. “It’s the duty of the state govt. & central govt. both to take responsibilities for the welfare of people of the state”, Dhar added. However, in their manifestos, opposition parties have promised to do a lot “if” they win elections. Tripura's faction ridden Congress Committee in its manifesto for the upcoming civic poll focused on the Howrah river, alongwith other 71 points. PCC President Birajit Sinha said that the water of Howrah River is getting polluted due to the lack of sanitation facility to the poor. However, rubbishing Cong.’s 72 point of promises, CPI-M State President Bijan Dhar told TIWN that what is called governance and how to rule a state, let them learn first.

So many promises of them made us laugh. “Everyone knows how they governed earlier & this local body election’s result will teach them where Cong. really is and what position they really have in Tripura”, said Dhar.

Therefore, through integrated low cost sanitation scheme sanitation will be constructed. “Also to control the fish poachers for the sake of pure drinking water supplying Cong. will take steps”, said Sinha. “English medium schools will be established in all the four zones of the State”, he added. Cong. also promised to take care of the parking zones, to save the natural environment to take care of public rights including SC-ST-OBC and Minority. Along with Sinha in the press Conference, MLA Gopal Roy, Ashish Saha and Opposition Leader Sudip Roy Barman had also present.

Asking about BJP’s promise to make ‘Smart City’ & ‘Villages’, Dhar said, “What is called smart city CPI-M here till day has failed to understand, and what will BJP do is very petty matter for discussion”.

However, apart from transferring Agartala a ‘Smart City’ BJP promised to wipe out all the corruptions of the state.

BJP also promised to develop the infrastructure of various institutions including proper water sewage system, underground laying of electric and telephone lines, developed parking facility, scientific construction of  Marketing complex, construction of new park and renovation of the existing parks,
Contentious issues like providing late night bus service.

BJP in total made 26 promises to the public of Tripura. The press Conference was lead by sate BJP President Sudhindra Dasgupta on Wednesday.
