AGARTALA, Oct 9 (TIWN): Uncertainty still looms large over the fate of the 10,323 teachers with the hearing date again postponed to January 7, 2016, as confirmed by Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty to TIWN correspondent on Friday. The next hearing for the case of termination of 10323 teachers’ has been re-scheduled for hearing to January 7, 2016, said Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty. He further informed that the case was produced for hearing on Friday before the apex court Registrar General's court, but on request from petitioner’s apex court the hearing date was postponed to January 7, 2016.A division bench of the Tripura High Court, comprising Chief Justice Deepak Gupta and Justice Swapan Chandra Das, in its judgment May 7, 2014 terminated the jobs of 10,323 government school teachers citing discrimination and irregularities. The high court also asked the state government to put in place a fresh recruitment process by December 2014 and frame a new employment policy within two months. Tripura's Left Front government recruited 1,100 post-graduate and 4,617 graduate teachers in 2010 and 4,606 under-graduate teachers in December 2013. The Tripura government has filed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) in the Supreme Court challenging the order of the High Court of Tripura, in which HC has cancelled the appointment of 10,323 teachers including post-graduate, graduate and under-graduate teachers.

Earlier, Supreme Court admitted the special leave petition (SLP) and stayed Tripura High Court's order for framing a new employment policy within two months and gave relief to 10,323 sacked government teachers.

The high court, after hearing the state government and the complainants, passed the order on a batch of 58 petitions filed by those who had failed to secure jobs as government teachers.
Meanwhile the state government have regularized all the graduate and post graduate teachers who have completed their five years in service. The teachers recruited in 2011 have completed their five years this year.

Uncertain-Future' awaits for  10,323 teachers as Supreme Court hearing is scheduled to January 7, 2016, another example of scam and misappropriation under the regime of Tripura’s so called 'clean' Chief Minister Manik Sarkar. 10323 teachers fate was thrown into disarray due to wrong decisions of not following Central Govt's TET guidelines in Teachers recruitments, which resulted subsequent job terminations by Tripura High Court on May 7, 2014. Chief Minister, Education Minister was guided by State's top Administration Officials, then Chief Secretary S.K.Panda and Education Secretary Banamali Sinha,  due to these bureaucrats wrong decisions, hapless State Govt still fighting a lost case in Supreme Court as Tripura High Court already cancelled 10323 Teacher appointments in 2014. According to a report, the then Chief Secretary of Tripura and present Union Textile Secretary S K Panda and Principal Secretary (Education) Banamali Sinha are the main architects in providing job to the 10323 teachers without following the rule of law to make ruling CPI-M and Manik Sarkar happy. 10323 teachers issue hanging over a year might hit with the final decision on Friday from Supreme Court, unless Supreme Court decides to take more time or postpone hearing. Even though Tripura Govt recently regularized some of these 10323 teachers as the case was in progress in Supreme Court but legal experts opine that State Govt’s face might burn if SC upholds HC verdict and terminate all 10323 teachers.
