AGARTALA, July 17 (TIWN): A two day state committee meeting kicked off from Friday at Agartala CPI-M party office, Melarmath taking up the issue related to the party’s upcoming protest movement against the land bill proposed by the central government and other policies, said the party source. The meeting would end on Saturday.

The CPI-M here would go for the protest pressing 6 points charter of demands. The protest programme would be held here in four phases, said the source.

The party source said unlike what Modi’s cheerleaders would have the world believe; Modi’s orchestrated NRI shows in foreign lands do not reflect what the Indian people are thinking. The pro corporate, anti people policies of his Government and the increasing role of the RSS at all levels of governance are leading to disillusionment and discontent.

Asked about the emergence of BJP here in Tripura the party source said, “The people of the state need to understand the real entity of the Modi government at the center. And for that CPI-M would need to reach every people here.”

However, it is worthy to mention here that the emergence of the BJP and the growing support for the BJP worried the ruling CPI-M past from the Panchayat elections till the recently concluded by-elections. At the meantime, BJP downing the Congress here in Tripura eyeing forward to be the main opposition which thinks would only bring a change in Tripura in future.
