JICA inaugurates a new ‘haat’ at Teliamura, survey various productions

TELIAMURA, July 15 (TIWN): A new kind of market or haat under JICA project is to be started at Teliamura from now onwards. With the initiatives of Teliamura Divisional Forest Dept. a Souvenir Shop has been inaugurated in the presence of JICA project’s programme specialist Yuko Shibuya from Delhi.

The Lead Development specialist Anurag Sinha, State Director of JIACA project G.S. Raju along with other dignitaries were also presented during the occasion. The inauguration of the haat has been done by Yuko Shibuya. While addressing the speech, Yuko Shibuya said that with the financial help of JAICA project the self-help groups of state Tripura would be benefited a lot.

This newly planned haat has given the way of income to the common people of the state. With the financial help the JICA, many self-help groups can deal with various product including clothes and bamboo products and make profit out of them, the team further claimed.

The team from Delhi, had also visited the Chakmaghat area’s hand loom production areas and took survey of the working skill of the women workers. Then they also visited to have a look over the productions of JFMC East Laxmipur’s ADC village’s “Chubnai Bodol” under Mungia Kami Forest Range.

Now it’s to be mentioned here that after investing crores, whether the project will show any effect in the economical condition of the poor people of the state or not. Because till now, self help mission is failed to bring any change to the economical status of the rural people of the state.
