AGARTALA, July 13 (TIWN): Allegation has once again come against Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, with a teachers’ forum: Joint Movement Committee of Teachers (J.M.C.T.)has demonstrated their long agitation against state govt. in a press meet on July 12th, and raised voice against its continuous deprivation to its employees, for dispensation of “poor pay-scale” in comparison with the central govt.’s. pay-scale.

During the press meet JMCT committee members claimed, “Tripura’s CM on March 31st, 2015 announced to pay the govt. teachers as per the central scale, but when the reality came out the figures showed unlike.” It seems it was a planned deprivation to its employees to fool the people. State govt. then almost promised to pay more, but when the original pay-scale came infornt, there was a huge difference between the salary of state’s employees and central govt. employees.

Taking in hands, the pay scales of the state govt. and as well as the central govt. it can be mentioned whether the basic salary of a primary teacher in the state is 8,380 in other states they get 16,290. Same in the case of post-garduate teachers: 18,750(as per the central govt. scale) and 13,500(state govt.); graduate teachers 18,457(central scale) and 10,620 (state govt.)

So there remains a huge gap between the salaries, provided by central govt. and state govt.

The difference between the salaries stands like this: Primary Teachers: Rs. 21,398; Graduates: Rs. 22,148 and Post-Graduates: Rs. 17,697.

They further mentioned, the recently announced pay-band and grade-pay will never come into the level of central pay-band and grade-pay, till the govt. doesn’t bring the old pay-scale into the level of the central govt.’s the then pay-scale.  The employees will never be benefited and the deprivation and allegations will be continued, mentioned J.M.C.T.

Moreover, when the central govt.’s 7th pay commission will be started from January 1st, 2016, the matter will be gone worsen. Tripura Govt., if basing on the present pay band/pay scale applies the “2 scale theory”, nothing will be developed, alleged JMCT.

During the meet, Ranajit Dey, Chairman of J.M.C.T., Pareshnath Bhattachatjee, Vice-chairman, Arup Bhattacharjee, Partha sarthi Haldal (Joint Conveners) were presented.
