KAILASHAHAR, July 11 (TIWN): After many allegations came against the fishery, under kailashahar’s Panchayat for embezzlement money in the name of fishing cultivation, another investment to be spent soon, although 1 crore has already been sanctioned in 2013 to make a water-body at Birchandra Nagar Panchayat’s area, under Kailashahar. But without completing the whole work fishing has been started, which is a sign of careless attitude towards central Govt.’s plan and wastage of govt.’s money.

According to the reports state Govt. had planned to make a water body, making it very similar with Rudrasagar and making a guest house in the middle of the water body, taking 80 ekar of fields which had been left as demesne and jute lands.

This land belonged to 91 people. It’s to be mentioned that this land which belonged to this 91 people, had been left as moorlands. Later with Govt.’s initiatives this place had been selected to make a huge water-body for fishery and as well for tourism. To make it a tourist spot, this place was to develop to increase the source of income for the poor and as well as for the govt.

In 2013, Rs. 1 core had been sanctioned from the central govt. for this particular water body.

But presently many works have been left as to make: artificial embankments which have not been finished yet. Moreover the under-water ground had to bring in a level, but without finishing all these works govt. has started fishing cultivation so that they can embezzle the tally of the sanctioned money.

According to the plan of 2013, boating system was to start over there, but the condition of the lake is such that without leveling the under-water land it will never be possible.

8 km distant from town, this Birchandra Nagar water-body has been losing its hope to equal itself with Rudrasagar, with the negligence of the Govt. Already, people are found to catch fishes and in many ways this lake is being destroying by the locals, but Govt. has turned a blind eye towards these activities.

However, from Fishery 40,000 and co-operative society 1 lakh of small fishes will be released in the lake on July 14. But without completing the whole work, jumping in another work shows the misappropriation of money and nothing else, and anyhow to manage the tally of 1 crore investment for the lake.
