KHOWAI, July 8 (TIWN): The terror of chit fund when dominating the mind of people, another complaint has been lodged against “Micro Life Insurance’s” in-charge Debashish Sarkar at Khowai police station on Monday night.

Ganesh Chandra Saha and Rakhi Sutradhar of Khowai sub-division have lodged a complaints against “Micro Life Insurance” in-charge Debashish Sarkar on July 6 night. As per the complaint registered, Ganesh Chandra Saha had invested Rs. 1 lakh 16 thousand and Rakhi Sutradhar also invested above Rs. 1 lakh and till day after the maturity date has crossed they did not received a single penny.

The issue came in to lime light when both the victim went to ask their matured money to the in-charge Debashish Sarkar and he could not manage to provide them the amount of money, said SI of Khowai PS Dibachandra Rangkhol.

The victims also expressed that when they asked to return the saved money, Debashish Sarkar said that as he had extended the bench mark of the amount to Rs 500 and the maturity time period has also increased.

Reportedly, “Micro Life Insurance” had been started two years back with the aim of providing facility to the daily wage labourer to save their money. The scheme of Micro Life Insurance mainly focuses on the facility of helping the people to save money starting from Rs. 10 to Rs. 100.

It has been learnt that in-charge Debashish Sarkar misleaded the people by providing wrong information, instead of facilitating the daily wage labourers, he targeted the middle and high class people for collecting money.

SI of Khowai P.S. Dibachandra Rangkhol stated that instead of collecting money as per the schemes of Micro Life Insurance which starts from Rs. 10, the accused Debashish Sarkar had collected Rs. 500 and above.

There are many common people of the area who were been targeted by accused Debashish Sarkar. Allegation has been raised against accused Sarkar that having faith on him the people of the area never bothered to ask any kind of money receipt from him.

SI of Khowai P.S. Dibachandra Rangkhol confirmed that accused Debashish manage to flee from his resident and the further investigation is going on.

Despite of several actions taken against the chit fund scam, the people are still being cheated by a section of chit fund companies here at the state which have now targeted the rural areas of the state, but the inactive role of the state administration has once again come under the limelight

However, the chit fund scam here in Tripura has of course become a major challenge for the state Left front government which had failed to bring an end to it yet today. Because this time another fresh scam had hit the Khowai sub-division leading to endless issue of chit fund scam.
