Congress slams state govt.’s circular on REGA wages, says “Left front’s HITLER rule worsens state”

AGARTALA, April 29 (TIWN): The Pradesh Congress Committee on Wednesday coming down heavily on the Left rule of the state claimed, “Undemocratic rule in the state under the regime of the Left front govt. has hit the common mass.” Congress MLA Ratan Lal Nath slamming the Left front govt. of the state stated, “If the election would have conducted free and fare than the Left front would have washed away from the state before.”

Nath was talking to the newsmen at Agartala Congress Bhawan on Wednesday during the press conference.

Nath criticising the role of the state govt. here alleged that the Left leaders are on a spree looting the money that comes from the centre under its MGNREGA scheme. “There is no relevant data of the REGA scheme in the website MIS designed by the state, whereas it rather shows phony report.”

The statement and the allegation of Nath have come out on Wednesday after the state govt. issued a notification on April 27 suspending the payment of REGA wages to the workers till May 10.  The decision was taken in the VDO conference conducted by the state Chief Secretary on April 27.

However, centring the notification of the govt. Nath on Wednesday claimed that the state govt. has been fooling the REGA workers by influencing the democracy of the state.

Nath also claimed, “Due to the dirty politics of the Left front govt. its officers and the BDOs are getting hit by the deprived by the REGA workers, therefore the state govt. would have to shoulder all the responsibilities.”  Adding to that Nath appealed the officers of the state govt. to work independently without acting on behest of undemocratic police of the govt.

However, Nath on Wednesday also questioned as how come the state govt. show 90% mandays till March 2015, whereas it was only 28 mandays on an average till December 2014.

He said at present there are a total of 6 lakh 36 thousands job card holders, whereas the number of labours figures more than 10 lakh.
