Allegation raised against BSF Rifleman for encouraging border crime

KHOWAI, April 26 (TIWN): A BSF Rifleman belongs to 83 battalion B Company has been accused of encouraging border crime in Asharambari sector in Khowai on Saturday. However, battalion commandant was not available for comment.

According to report, Rifleman working in intelligence wings of BSF Kailash Chan posted in Asharambari is allegedly involved in drug paddling and facilitating cattle lifting activities in the area. Allegedly he has been helping smuggling rackets between India and Bangladesh.

According to report, recently Kailash Chan goes to the house of a Bangladeshi resident Aman Miah in Kunjaban Gram at Srimangal District under Chunarughat police station. He is also accused of opening the Asharambari BoP gate along international border to help the smugglers.

Aman Miah is the leader of a cattle thief group and Kailash Chan by taking the advantage of the night goes to the house of Aman Miah at Bangladesh and taking huge amount of bribe, report alleged.

Kailash Chan is also using two Bangladeshi Mobile Phone SIM cards having numbers 01741218234 and 01949104984, claimed localites.

They further alleged that Kailash Chan is also taking bribes from the local contraband dealers and turned the entire stretch into a hub for contrabands, narcotics business. Contraband items like drug tablets, phensedyl, correx, drug powders have been found selling in a broad day light in the markets.
