UDAIPUR, April 8 (TIWN): Two CPI (M) candidates namely Joy Kishore Debbarma and Parikshit Mura Singh filed their nomination paper for the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) election in SDM office at Udaipur on Wednesday.

Taking to TIWN, Parikshit Mura Singh said that  “A section of political parties and the leaders having close links with the banned NLFT outfits here in the state, INPT and the IPFT are the two regional parties of the state has an unswerving contact with the NLFT militants”, claimed Parikshit Mura Singh.INPT and the IPFT have direct links with the banned NLFT militants camped in some places namely Gandacherra, Dhamcherra, Dhalai, Kanchanpur and others. Singh further mentioned that some leaders here in the state often make an unswerving contact with the NLFT militants in the neighbouring states of the North East and Bangladesh before elections here in Tripura.

Parikshit Mura Singh further said that the demand of the separate state “Twipra Land” is a dangerous move and is totally unethical. He slammed the INPT and IPFT for trying to fan unrest in the State where ‘peace has returned after two decade long insurgency and ethnic turmoil. He also criticized the separatist demand and said that the demand for a separate state carved out of Tripura was irrelevant. A section of tribal people were misguided by the slogan. He termed the slogan as conspiracy to vitiate the unity and integrity between tribal and nontribal people in the state.

Earlier, the election commissioner for Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) issued notification as per provision under subrule (2) of Rule 14 calling upon all the 28 constituencies on April 4.

The election will be held on May 3 and counting will take place on May 06. The term of office of the present Autonomous District Council will expire on May 19. The election commission has decided to use EVMs in the general election to district council in all polling stations. Adequate numbers of EVMs have been made available and all steps have taken to ensure that the polls are conducted smoothly with the help of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM’s).

Altogether seven lakh fifty eight thousand five hundred fifty four voters will exercise their franchise in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections.
