AGARTALA, Jan 4 (TIWN): Communist senior leader, former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar during a protest rally in Agartala slammed Modi Govt for silence over USA’s Operation in Venezuela. “It’s surprising that the Govt of India has not made any comment yet in this regard,” said Sarkar.
“The USA announced that Venezuela will now run according to the USA's will and they will choose people to lead according to their wish. Now the BJP and RSS led India Govt is supporting this heinous act,” said Sarkar.
“We demand, Govt of India should take an ideal step and back the Venezuelan President and his wife. The Govt of India should demand the USA to release the Venezuelan President and his wife. This much has to be done by the India Govt,” said Sarkar.
The US military launched an operation in Venezuela and afterwards arrested Venezuela President Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores. Both were brought to the USA with four changes including "narcotic terrorism" against which USA was fighting for a long time following last few months's numbers of drug carrying vessels from Venezuela were destroyed. A day after the operation, Tripura CPI-M party led by former CM Manik Sarkar launched a protest in the capital city Agartala, condemning the incident.
