AGARTALA, Oct 19 (TIWN): BJP MDC Padmalochon Tripura criticized Tipra Motha party as its MLA Ranjit Debbarma called for a strike on October 23. He said, the strike culture has been inherited from the CPI-M’s regime and it’s a culture that goes nowhere. “No protest and strike can fix the issues that we are facing. It’s just a conspiracy to paralyze the economy. So I would request those who called for strike to cancel it,” said Tripura.
He further said, “They have not called for a strike in Tipra Motha’s name. An NGO has called for the strike whereas Tipra Motha leaders are leading the strike. So, it is clear that the strike has had the hands of the Tipra Motha party.”
“They are partners in the government. I hope they know how the democratic system works and staying in government, calling for strike against the government is nothing but political immaturity," he said.
