AGARTALA, Nov 30 (TIWN): After Greater Tipraland and Roman Script, now BJP’s alliance partner Tipra Motha party is once again on the road against BJP government. This time, the issue erupted with the Old Governor House which was once a Royal property and later handed over to the Government of Tripura by Tripura Kings. A massive protest with a torchlight procession was organized by Tipra Motha party in Bisharamganj. Recently Tripura Government proposed to develop the palace and save it in a business model by handing over it to the Taj Hotel.
Amid the proposal, the Tipra Motha party has launched a protest claiming the government has no authority to decide this.
On the other hand, Tripura CM, Ministers, and leaders are constantly telling the people that this is a full government property and government does not need anyone’s permission to do anything with it. Moreover, the building will not be demolished, rather, it will be secured as a historical monument and Tripura’s name will become more famous with that.
CM Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday pointed out how the same models have been followed in Rajasthan.
However, he also said, nothing was decided finally and talks on it are going on.
It can be mentioned here, BJP has sent Tipra Motha supremo’s elder sister Kriti Singh to the parliament in 2024 Lok Sabha election with a BJP-ticket.
